Qi Gong is a moving form of meditative prayer where every movement and thought is opportunity for the enhancement of one's life.
“Qi” means vital life force, and “gong” is the dedicated practice of regenerating this vital life force within one's whole being. Qi Gong is an ancient form of movement that exercises the mind and body to activate the energy channels (meridians), strengthens the internal organs and promotes well being. According to scientific studies in China, the concept of moving Qi dates back more than 5,000 years. Qi Gong is the basis of Taiji and all martial art forms.

Today there are hundreds of forms of Qi Gong practiced throughout the world. The popular practice of Qi Gong in many countries has proven to be an effective form of preventative medicine, resulting in significant lower health care costs. Modern research has proven its therapeutic effects on chronically ill patients and, therefore, is extensively used in Chinese hospitals to speed recovery.

The practice of Qi Gong restores and maintains health, integrating body, mind, and spirit. Health benefits may include stress management, relieving depression, improving balance and flexibility, enhancing relaxation, cleansing toxins from the body, and boosting the immune system.

Qi Gong's benefits reach far beyond our physical health. The free flow of Qi in the body and brain leads many people to heightened awareness. This state often manifests itself as an increase in creativity and intuition, intellectual ability and subtle energy sensitivities.

Practitioners often experience greater focus, peace of mind and a state of tranquility that transfers into the actions of their daily lives. The very nature of practice allows us to reawaken into our natural state of divinity. In doing so, we gain more clarity to the interconnectedness of all life. As we raise our consciousness in this way, we can have a positive effect on the well being of ourselves, families, communities and the world.

Qi Gong accesses the power of the mind. Regardless of physical limitations, a person can benefit from Qi Gong practice by visualizing any movements that may be physically challenging. Qi Gong complements nearly all forms of medical care. Most Qi Gong workshops are not recommended for pregnant women and people with some forms of mental illness. Other forms are available depending on diagnosis. For further discussion please consult with the instructor.
